About Me

Hello there! I’m Jacqueline, and I’m glad you’ve stopped by.

I’m a writer, artist, reader, and enthusiast for anything else involving imagination and paper. Colored pencils are also quite fantastic.

My first passion is children’s literature—everything from picture books to young adult novels— though I always have ears for a well-told story in any genre.

I have a master’s degree in creative writing and a bachelor’s in English literature, which means (in addition to a penchant for grammar and inordinate fondness for comma rules) I am trained with the vocabulary and tools to work with writing of all kinds. I use these skills as an author and also as a freelance editor. There are few things I love more than talking about words!

My work has been published in The Garbanzo Literary Journal, Tales to Go, YARN, and Go Overseas. As an author/illustrator, I’m represented by Erzsi Deak of Hen & Ink Literary. My book Autumnfell is currently on submission to publishers.

My love of story has been cultivated through education, occupation, and travel as well. During my time as a student, I studied at the University of Oxford, and I have lived in England and Japan for several months.

This website is dedicated to storytelling, creativity, and imagination wherever they’re found as well as interesting things from my own experience writing, drawing, doodling, traveling, baking, and being. Let’s have an adventure!

Unless otherwise indicated, all the pictures on this website are ones that I have photographed or drawn myself.
